Railway Network

The main railway line into Cornwall runs from Paddington in London to Penzance via Plymouth. As train-spotters and railway enthusiasts will know this is the same route as that of the old Great Western Region (GWR) line.

Lines from other parts of the UK also feed into Plymouth.

The journey time from London to Penzance by a fast train is typically a little over 5 hours.

The main line stations in Cornwall are Plymouth, Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway, Par, St. Austell, Truro, Camborne, St. Erth, Redruth, and Penzance.

There are branch lines to Newquay, Falmouth, and St Ives. However trains to these stations may only operate during holiday periods.
